The following tables show the mean number of the vehicles using the harbour tunnels including Western tunnel, Eastern tunnel and Central tunnel in Hong Kong.
Table 1 shows more vehicles using the tunnels from Monday to Friday than on holidays and weekends. The central tunnel has the greatest number of vehicles with 9500 per hour using it from Monday to Friday, whereas the Western tunnel has the least number of taxis with only 90 per hour using it from Monday to Friday. Generally, private cars have the maximum number using the tunnels cpmpared to the other vehicles from Monday to Friday.
Table 2 shows taxis and good vehicles have only 100 using the western tunnel, whereas the private cars have the greatest number with over 1500 using the western tunnel. On holidays and weekends, private cars have a greater number than the other vehicles using the Central tunnel comparatively.
Comparing table 1 and 2, the total number of vehicles using the central tunnels has the greatest number of 9500. The total number of good vehicles using the eastern tunnel has the largest number of 1270 from Monday to Friday, whereas, the good vehicles using the eastern tunnel has only 580 on holidays and weekends.
